Frequently Asked Questions
RA/FTP has two exclusive contracts with generic injectable naloxone manufacturers who sell naloxone to us at an extremely discounted price. We purchase the naloxone directly from the companies with our Medical Director’s authority and store it securely at our warehouse.
We also have a contract with Harm Reduction Therapeutics, the non-profit pharma company who makes the 3mg nasal naloxone called RiVive™️ to provide access to this product at-cost to harm reduction programs. We purchase RiVive from Harm Reduction Therapeutics, store it at our warehouse and fill wholesale orders for programs who are funded to purchase nasal naloxone. Eventually we will be managing Harm Reduction Therapeutics' donation program and will be providing product donated by the company to our un-funded partners at no cost.
Yes. Remedy Alliance/For the People purchases naloxone from manufacturers with the required credentials and takes possession of the product.
21 USC 353(e)(4)(C) contains exemptions for wholesale distributors providing emergency medications, especially during a declared Public Health Emergency.
No. RA/FTP is a non-profit organization with tax exempt 501(c)(3) status that is supported by grants, donations and self-sustaining revenue generated by the sale of naloxone to funded programs. All revenue generated by the sale of naloxone at our modest, tiered prices (over cost to us) is used to support the infrastructure of RA/FTP, cover shipping and handling, and to acquire a supply of naloxone for donation to under-resourced harm reduction programs.
Yes. We provide access to RiVive® 3mg nasal naloxone, manufactured by non-profit pharma company Harm Reduction Therapeutics.
The majority of our programs are providing syringe access and harm reduction services directly to people who use drugs. They also provide access to naloxone for people at high risk of overdose at treatment programs, jails and prisons, or through mail order services.
